Positive Behaviour Support

Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)

BHS is a PBS school.  This is an evidence-based program that focuses on teaching expected positive behaviours to students.  The PBS Staff Team develops lessons and activities to reinforce the positive behaviours.  These positive behaviours come from the school's values of Kindness, Resilience, Responsibility and Respect.

The School’s Values:

Kindness – Be aware of your impact on others, be positive and encouraging, take care of yourself and others, be inclusive, share spaces and resources.

Resilience – Keep going even when things are hard, demonstrate self-control, accept consequences for behaviour, ask for help, accept feedback, lose or win with grace, be patient.

Responsibility – Treat property and the environment with care, be organised, be accountable, be punctual, meet deadlines, use class time well, use break times to eat and take toilet breaks.

Respect – Follow instructions, recognise and value differences, use appropriate language and noise level, allow others to learn and to teach, use manners, be an active listener, play fairly, put rubbish in the bin.
